ABOUT ME

I am a registered Occupational Therapist, Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO). I strive to understand how my clients’ “occupations”, or meaningful activities and life roles, are impacted in order to support their healing and recovery.  As a regulated health care professional, I am required by law to deliver competent, ethical and professional services to the public. 


WHAT IS AN OT?

An occupational therapist (OT) works with people affected by emotional, physical or cognitive problems to maintain, restore, or increase their ability to care for themselves and to engage in work, school, or leisure. OTs are one of the six professionals in Ontario that are permitted to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy. 


EDUCATION & TRAINING

I graduated from Queen's University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. I have 8 years of clinical experience working at large teaching hospitals, tertiary psychiatric care facility and specialized community mental health programs working with adults, first responders and veterans. I have completed post-graduate training in trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
